Short biography

Adrien Licha is a consultant on international cooperation and development with a focus on local governments. He has worked with major networks of local government, including the Middle East regional section of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) in Istanbul for 5 years. In his capacity as coordinator of thematic committees and working groups he led the work of the organisation in its efforts of localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in areas such as good governance, social inclusion of Syrian refugees in cities, climate change, or city diplomacy. Following that, he worked as Knowledge Management Officer for 2 years in a Brussels-based European network of local governments involved in development cooperation. His general interest areas include local implementation of SDGs and managing refuge crisis in cities. He also produced and presented a radio show for 2 years on the cultural life of Istanbul.
