Short biography

Henrik von Homeyer is a research advisor at the Policy Planning Unit of the German Federal Foreign Office, where he leads a project facilitating knowledge exchange between the Berlin University Alliance (BUA), the excellence cluster SCRIPTS, and the Foreign Office. From 2022 to 2025, Henrik served as a foreign and security policy advisor to the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag. Prior to this role, he held an advisory position within the Federal Ministry of Health from 2021 to 2022, focusing on Germany’s COVID-19 pandemic response and its international dimensions.

Henrik’s earlier career includes serving as a research advisor to the directors of the Institut für Europäische Politik and as a program assistant at the German Marshall Fund of the United States in Berlin. He holds an M.Res. in Eastern European Studies from University College London, specializing in Russian foreign policy and Ukrainian politics, and a B.A. in European Studies from Maastricht University.
