Jan Fuhrmann has been working as a Parliamentary Advisor to Dr. Andreas Nick MdB, the Turkey rapporteur of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag and Head of the German Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, since 2018. In his job, Jan covers a wide range of topics regarding Turkey-Europe relations: from security policy, rule of law and human rights issues to economic relations. He is also a member of the Working Group of Young Foreign Policy Experts of the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation. Jan holds a Master’s degree in political science as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology, both from Goethe University Frankfurt, where he also worked as a student research assistant at several International Relations chairs. Prior to his employment at the Bundestag, Jan worked at the NATO Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. Furthermore, he was a public relations consultant and working student at the Climate and Energy Policy Unit of KfW Development Bank.
