Jülide Aşçı is a PhD candidate in International Relations at the Department of Public Law and Historical and Legal Sciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her doctoral research investigates contemporary Turkish development cooperation in Ethiopia. She holds a Joint Master’s degree in Global Studies from Leipzig University, Addis Abeba University and Wroclaw University during which she did research on Turkish soft power policies towards Sub-Saharan Africa. She has been working in international development and language teaching, and is currently the youth representative of BRUXIRCLE for Germany – an online youth platform of Turkish young professionals based in Brussels, to share knowledge and experience on career opportunities in the European Union and build a strong network in Brussels. It has a special focus on EU-Turkey relations.
