Kenza AUNIERE is a French expert on asylum and human rights issues, as well on the Middle Eastern area. Her work so far focused on the protection of civilians in conflict zones. She joined the French Foreign Service and became a French diplomat in 2023, after working for four years at the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons. She is now the Tunisia desk officer within the Middle East and North Africa Directorate. She also worked as an Asylum Officer at the French Embassy in Turkey for more than a year and a half. She invested herself in the Ankara’s Women in Diplomacy network, that aims to advance and empower female diplomats in their profession, by providing information, knowledge, and tools on topics related to diplomacy in general and Turkish politics specifically. She holds two BAs from Sciences Po Paris and La Sorbonne (History), and a master in International Security from the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA, Sciences Po Paris). She was also a visiting scholar at the University of York in the United Kingdom, where she studied for a year.She speaks five languages.
