Özge Mumcu Aybars co-founded the Uğur Mumcu Investigative Journalism Foundation (um:ag) 1994. She graduated in Political Science from Bilkent University, holds an MA in Political Science from Ankara University, and a PhD in Political Discourse from METU. During her PhD, she was an Erasmus fellow at Pantheon University, Athens. In 2016, she was a fellow for the EUVP (European Union Visitors Program). Özge’s career as a political advisor began with the Democratic Left Party. Her work with TEPAV on TR-EU relations, peace processes, and constitutional reforms has been instrumental. She consulted for CHP Foreign Relations with Mr. Ünal Çeviköz (2017-2022) and now advises Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş. She writes for www.kisadalga.net and hosts podcasts there. As a coordinator at um:ag Foundation and project manager for the EU, Swedish Consulate, MATRA, and Olof Palme Projects, she promotes rights-based journalism. Fluent in English, proficient in Italian, and with a basic understanding of French and German.
