Raphael Geiger serves as Istanbul correspondent for the German national daily Süddeutsche Zeitung. Prior to that, he was a reporter and correspondent with the weekly Stern. He covered multiple crises, including the Arab Spring, the war in Syria, the fight against ISIS in Syria and Iraq, the refugee crisis in the Aegean sea, the Greek crisis and all major developments in Turkey post-Gezi. Most recently he spent two years in New York City, reporting on American politics and social issues. He‘s a graduate of Henri Nannen Journalism School.
