Raziye Akkoc is EU correspondent in Brussels for international news agency AFP, where she covers a range of subjects including trade, technology and economic issues.
She began her career as a reporter in London and has worked in several countries including France. She spent six years in Ankara, covering Turkish foreign and domestic policy for AFP. It was during her time in Turkey that she co-founded Turkey recap, a weekly English-language newsletter with another journalist.
Raziye holds a master’s degree in journalism from Goldsmiths, University of London, which was awarded through a bursary scheme by The Guardian newspaper owner, the Scott Trust. She has a BA in English Literature and Media from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.
