Riccardo Gasco is Foreign Policy Program Coordinator at IstanPol Institute, political analyst, PhD researcher in International Relations at the University of Bologna, and a Spinelli Forum Fellow. Based in Istanbul since 2019, he previously held a visiting fellowship at the Istanbul Policy Center and at Sabancı University. His research focuses on Turkish foreign policy, Turkey’s positioning between NATO and Russia, and the role of emerging middle powers in a changing global order. He holds degrees from the University of Genoa and SOAS, University of London, and regularly contributes analysis to Italian, Turkish, and international media on Turkish politics, the Middle East, EU-Turkey relations, strategic autonomy, and transatlantic diplomacy.
