Short biography

Simon Hartmann is political consultant and researcher. Simon works for a political party group in the German state parliament of Nordrhein-Westphalia. He is policy expert for counter-terrorism and construction. Simon holds a Master’s degree in European Culture and Economy from the Ruhr University Bochum and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Politics from the Albert Ludwig University Freiburg. He previously worked as Carlo Schmidt Fellow for the Europe Commission in line with the Blue Book Traineeship. During his studies he worked and lived in the United Kingdom and in Turkey. Having witnessed the failed coup attempt in Turkey 2016, he became keen to gain expertise in this field. He is passionate about internationalist and liberal thought as an alumnus of the Mercator Foundation and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
