Sophie Schäffer is a desk officer at the German Federal Ministry of Defence. Prior to that, she worked for three years as Chief of Staff and advisor for security and defence policy in the German Bundestag. Sophie holds two master’s degrees in International Security and International Relations from Sciences Po Paris and King’s College London. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Freie University of Berlin.
Sophie is a volunteer member of the extended board of Women in International Security Germany and is committed to increasing the visibility and advancement of women in foreign and security policy.
