Short biography

Yilmaz Akkoyun works as Senior Policy Officer at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung, abbreviated BMZ) in Berlin. Overall, he has significant work experience in Germany´s government, Germany´s Federal Parliament
(Bundestag) and in international organizations. As a diplomatic and collaborative communicator, he has a demonstrated history of developing and implementing policy strategies, campaigns, initiatives as well as proven leadership.

As Julius G. Blocker and KAS-Scholar he graduated within the Global Public Policy Network (GPPN) dual degree program from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) in the city of New York with an Master of Public Administration (MPA) specializing in Advanced Policy and Economic Analysis as well as from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin with an Master of Public Policy (MPP).

Yilmaz has global experience, a deep analytical skillset and extensive expertise in policy analysis, strategy, stakeholder-management and public diplomacy.
