Dr. La Toya Waha is analyst and policy advisor for the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Berlin. She holds a Doctoral degree in Political Science from Heidelberg University. She was visiting fellow at the Centre for Indian and South Asian Studies (CEIAS) in Paris and at the Social Policy Analysis and Research Centre (SPARC) in Colombo. While Deputy Director in the KAS Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia in Singapore, La Toya led two research projects, one on the comparison of drivers of radicalisation in Asia and Europe, and another on natural disasters’ impact on conflict-transformation in Asia. She published on state-formation, the relation of religion and politics, religious violence and on political culture in Asia, is member of the international advisory board of the International Journal of Religion and serves as reviewer for journals and publishers, like Cambridge University Press. Before joining KAS, she worked as research fellow at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict in Violence in Bielefeld.
