Hatem is a humanitarian worker currently based in Turkey responding to the Syria crisis. She works as Protection and Inclusion Program Coordinator at GOAL Global, aiding marginalized nomadic communities and seasonal agricultural workers. Previously, she was working for Support to Life, a Turkish non-governmental organization, supporting the design and implementation of protection activities targeting at-risk refugees and children in seasonal migratory agriculture. She also worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Hatay, a border town to Syria, supporting refugees living in camps and in urban areas.
Hatem is a graduate of International Relations from the Middle East Technical University and has a master’s degree in European Security and Defense Policy from Leeds University in the UK.
